Subjective selection in tendering is the road to chaos

Chambers Ireland recently issued A Strategic Public Procurement Policy for Ireland, which outlined 15 recommendations to improve the public procurement process in Ireland. These ideas are largely intended to help SMEs win a greater share of the €9bn up for grabs. The paper estimates that almost €800m worth of public contracts tendered are not awarded to Irish businesses at all.
