Gabriel recently joined our sales team, and brings with him a love for business and technology. He has worked in both human resources and the financial services sector before, and has a proven and successful approach to sales. Gabby, as we call him in the office, thrives on new experiences and one of the areas he is most excited about at TenderScout is the exposure he’ll have to different industries with his new role.
We asked Gabby to share a bit more about his past experiences and his future plans at TenderScout with us.
Gabriel, tell us a bit about yourself and your role as a part of TenderScout:
Hi, my full name is Gabriel Matos Alencar and I come from São Paulo in Brazil. I spent a few months as a sales intern at TenderScout and have just been made full-time with the team, which I am so happy about!
How will you help fulfil the mission and goals of TenderScout?
I have a range of diverse skills and I work with every team member, not just my colleague in the Sales team. My main task is to find leads and I love researching. My personal desire to learn more about the tendering process.
Tell us about how you find your way to TenderScout?
I found TenderScout through Šárka as we knew each other from working together before.
After she finished her internship, she stayed at TenderScout. I remember we sat down together and had a coffee while I was listening to her story about the company’s background. I really liked the business idea and was immediately interested in working here. The fact that the intern role available at the time was a sales position was another plus for me.
What do you like about working at TenderScout?
Firstly, I admire the idea of the business, helping other businesses to succeed and make more money. I am inspired by the ability to grow in both my professional and personal capacity at TenderScout. I also really like the fact that we are a diverse team and are constantly dealing with people from all over the world.
What do you like most about the company or tech startups in general?
The environment is friendly and relaxed, but everyone works hard and puts in a lot of effort all the time. I really like that combination. The CEO sits with us and communication between the team and CEO is open and direct.
Moreover, I like the fact that tech startups in general are offered special programmes to participate in like going to Google's Adopt A Startup programme.
How would you describe the value proposition of TenderScout? What makes our service unique and outstanding?
We show SMEs, who don't think they can win tenders, how they can compete for and win public contracts. This is an empowering message for SMEs and we see ourselves as a partner who works with them to help them build their revenues.
Is there any way that TenderScout has to be concerned about a strong competitive environment?
I am not aware of too many other competitors, but we offer a unique service. Many of our competitors only list the tender without really supporting the SME itself. TenderScout lists tender opportunities and also shares best practice tools and processes.
Are you a hunter or a gatherer?
I think I like to hunt, it is part of nature of sales. I enjoy feeling positive emotions when I accomplish something new.
You’re a new addition to the crayon box. What color would you be and why?
I would be blue. Blue symbolises the feeling of using your head to me, thinking carefully and then putting a plan in place. It also gives me a sense of tranquillity.
What is your secret addiction? Coffee, sweets, etc…
Music, I could not live without music. I enjoy listening to music while on my way to work.
